Edd Lee Bell Sr. was born on November 10th, 1939, in Pembroke, Kentucky to John Lee Bell and Mary Elizabeth Bell (Welch). His parents preceded him in death.
Edd attended school in Pembroke, Kentucky. He had a love for baseball and as a young man he played baseball in Fairview, Kentucky. On March 10th, 1962, he married the love of his life: Vivian Lee (Harris) Bell (preceded him in death) before
moving his young family to Indianapolis, Indiana. To this union ten children were born.
Edd believed in and of the foundation of the word of God. He accepted Christ at an early age. He confessed his life to Christ and was baptized in Pembroke, Kentucky.
He was a studious member of Greater Elem Missionary Baptist Church with his family and later joined Little Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Edd was a firm believer in working and taking care of his entire family. He was one of the first black pioneers of the Tool & Die Makers/Engineers of Detroit Diesel Allison which later became Allison Transmission. In the late 70s he earned his rightful name “Bugman” as he became a business partner with Foster Exterminator as profitable
exterminators in the tri-state area of Indiana. Years later he was gifted the business and Bugman took off. In 1993 Edd Lee Bell retired from Allison and continued to financially flourish in his successful pest control business and as a proud entrepreneur owning rental properties in Indianapolis as well as Bell & Foster Ice Cream Shop in 1971.
Edd was a proud husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and so much more to many! He may have been a man of few words, but his heart was beyond giving of the asking. In May 1971 he moved his family to the great castle at 733 E.
33rd Street where there was love, giving, hosting holiday gatherings, friendships, barbecues, weddings, and so much more. He was a provider not only to his family
but to whomever he was able to help. He was well loved and cherished in his community and held in the highest regards of many. His life was greater than an enjoyment than anyone could imagine, and this was due to his love of being a motorcycle rider. He was an avid and active member of the Nap-town Riders and
rode his motorcycles from Indiana to New York, New Orleans, Tennessee, Atlantic City just to name a few and his final trip to California. He also had a great love for cars…especially GMC & Cadillac.
