Obituary For Aldine Wilson Cornett Johnson

Mrs. Aldine Wilson Cornett Johnson, the daughter of the late Charlie and Nettie Wilson, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 11, 1928. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools #26 and Crispus Attucks High school. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Trinity C.M.E. Church where she remained a member until her health began to decline.
In 1948 she married Myron Cornett and they were married for 38 years until his death. To this union there were five children born, Myron, Diane, Roselyn, Curtis and Carol. In 1996 she was united in marriage to Howard Johnson and they were married twenty years until his death.
Aldine loved her church. She was a member of the Senior Usher Board for over 50 years. A member of the Kitchen Club; the Pastor’s Aid and worked wherever she was needed. She served as a Sponsor for the Christian Youth Fellowship and also helped with meals for the Cub Scouts.
Aldine was employed by Arch Professional Cleaning Services until she retired. She was a past auxiliary member of Americans Vets Post 99. She loved cooking for family and friends and was most famous her Super Bowl Basement Parties. Her specialty dishes were potato salad, chili, spaghet- ti, collard greens and cabbage.
She was a very classy dresser and loved to shop. Her grand- children loved to see her in her “track suits” and “kitten heels.”
Aldine was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers, her daughter Carol, husband Myron Cornett, daughter Diane Esco, great-granddaughter Amira Jackson and husband Howard Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Myron (Virginia), and Curtis (LaTonya) Cornett. Daughter Roselyn Turner (James). Twelve grandchildren Michelle Duncan, Myron Cornett, Jr., Shawnise, Nicole, Shemeka, Adrian, and Nicole Cornett, LaTaya Moore, Myron Jackson, Andrae, and Marcel Cornett, Ricky Kinartail, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Also, her BFF’s Ms. Ruth Jean Goodrich, Mrs. Mary Reid, Mrs. Ann Snow, Mrs. Patricia Ellis and many more relatives and friends
