Mrs. Thelma Nancy Smith, daughter of the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Berry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on January 14th, 1937, Thelma affectionally known as Mrs. Nancy to friends and family.
Nancy attended Indianapolis Public School System. At an early age, she professed her love for Christ while attending St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Nancy was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie ]. Smith from (1968-1992) until his death. Nancy had one brother, Willie Dean White (Junnie), great grandson Ta'Nykus John Wesley, and a nephew Matthew Bradley White, who proceeded her
in death Nancy was employed by Wishard Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a CNA for 35 years before retiring in 2002. To know Nancy was to love her, she enjoyed life by traveling with friends and family and partying at events and family functions. Nancy really loved singing and dancing, and throughout the years, she loved chasing those Reds 7's at the casino. Nancy also enjoyed spending time at home on her porch shooting the breeze with her Ruckle St. Family. In later years Nancy enjoyed watching her channel 8-line up wheel of fortune, family feud, young & the restless and bold& the beautiful, while enjoying her snacks (snickers dilly bars Crunch n Munch & let not forget an Ice Cold Pepsi). Nancy loved her some Steve Harvey, Prince, and her toothpicks. Nancy always greeted you with a bright smile and a sweet hello. Nancy departed this life on June 15th, 2025, at the blessed age of 88 years old. She leaves to cherish her only child, Darlene Wesley Coleman, three granddaughters, LaDonna R. Sullivan, Tamicka L. Cassamajor (Yvens) Malinda L. Wesley (Ray). Two great grandson Raylin D. Harris and Korion D. Jenkins, one great grand daughter Kerrick C. Williams five great great-grandchildren. One nephew Willie M. White(Theresa), One nephew Willie M. White(Theresa), two great nephew Maurice and Davon, two great nieces Daisha and Kenndi White and a host of family and friends.
