Lura Williams was born in Salitllo, TN November 1, 1933. She was one of 10 children born to the union Robert Lowery and Malisse Lowery Adell.

Lura diligently served many years at places of employment such as Washington Township Schools, RCA and Link Belt. After retiring, she continued to spend time bowling, reading, and most importantly, hosting and sharing meals with family and friends. Lura loved her family and she was often seen spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She professed her hope in Christ at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church. She continued to grow in faith and diligently attended Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church and ended her journey at Christian Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. As a choir member and founding member of The Singing Sisters group for over thirty years, Lura used her voice to praise God and usher in worship for the Kingdom.

Lura Williams was called home on April 16, 2025 to receive her reward for her Christian service.

She is preceded in death by her father Robert Lowery and mother Malisse Lowery Adell, brothers, David Lowery, Herbert Stackens, Lowery Adell and JB Taylor, sisters, Bernice Cook, Ruthina McElrath, Ida Taylor, Ruby Williams, loving husband James Williams, daughters, Rita Coleman, Wendy Coleman and Helen Matthews. She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Harry (Bonnie Coleman and Harold Coleman, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
