Obituary For Freddy James Smith

Freddy James Smith age 79 of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on February 26, 2023. He was born on May 16, 1943 in Chambers County Alabama. Mr Smith is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Eunice Smith and his brother Billy Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Linda Smith. Children Liz Smith, Tamarac, FL, Rick Smith (Jen), Weston, FL, Toni Manuel, Pensacola, FL, Wiley Forrester (Michelle) Jefferson, GA, Jimmy Forrester (Christie) Winter Haven, FL, Derek Forrester (Tammy) Buford, GA, and Nephew Lee Smith (Bobbie).

Sister in Laws Brenda Reynolds (Billy), Sheila Duncan (Jerry), and Glenda Duncan (Mike)

Grand Children Phillip Forrester, Jimmy S. Forrester, Kaylynn McConnell, Allison Forrester, Chelsea Vincent (Brandon), Bobby Simpson, Austin Simpson (Carson), Joseph Manuel, Wesley Manuel, DJ Forrester, Dylan Forrester, Devin Forrester, Ashley Vonville, Aaron Vonville

Special Friends Ricky Williams, Eddie Jarrod, Michael Evens, Dwayne Cole, Tom Elder and so many others.

He was retired from General Motors after nearly 35 years of service as a supervisor. He was also owner of Residential Painting Inc. Freddy loved camping and loved his camping/RVing families. He loved the Peach Rollers Camping Club members, all the rallies and all the many friends that he met along the way.

He was also a member of Buford Masonic Lodge 292, Gwinnett Shrine Club and Yaarab Shrine in Atlanta, Winder Moose Lodge.

Freddy was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. He never met a person he didn’t like. He had a unique way of bringing the very best out in any person that he met. Most of all the way he showed love to everyone, especially his wife Linda.

Freddy was also a very avid Alabama Football fan.

The family is also requesting if you have any stories or memories you would like share about Freddy, please do so at the service.

ROLL TIDE!! A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA with Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic Graveside Rites at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. Visitation will be held on from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Flanigan Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 prior to the Service.
