Adrian Riley

07/29/1974 - 08/17/2022

Adrian Lamar Riley was born July 29, 1974, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Adrian was the son of Linda L. (Weathers) Riley and Xavier Poindexter. He was raised by his daddy, Egypt J. Riley. Adrian had several different nicknames given to him by family. He was known as "A-Fat," by some, "Lil Pon" by others, and "Choclydite" by his aunts, Della and Jeanie. Adrian was the oldest of his mother's two children. Adrian received his education in the Indianapolis public school system. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School, where he was a member of the football team with his cousin/brother, Lamar Rowley. They had great times. Although their college careers took them in different directions, Adrian to Wabash and Lamar to Tennessee State, on scholarships, the two remained close. Only distance separated them. Adrian worked for CSX Transportation for many years; however, he spent his final years working at Rolls Royce as a crib attendant. On March 18, 2000, Adrian married the love of his life, Alicia Parrish. The two had four children, Ashley Brewer, Aaron, Alyssa, and Aidan Riley. Adrian was very funny. He knew no strangers. Anyone that knew him could tell you a story. He was a loving husband, father, brother, nephew, and son who will be sorely missed by all that encountered him. Knowing Adrian, he'd probably say, "Don't mourn my loss, have a happy gathering and talk about the good times!" Adrian was always up to something, but you could never tell because of his expression. He always looked innocent. He was wise beyond his years and was full of random knowledge. He was the epitome of strength. An awesome example of what a God-fearing man should be like; so much so that his brother, Brandon, plans to take the lessons that he learned from Adrian to make sure that he sees him again, in Heaven. Adrian was a wonderful man with much to do, but was caught up amid a loss he couldn't overcome. God has given him rest and peace. Thank you, Jesus! He is now reunited with his beloved Alicia, who preceded him in death by eleven months. He was also preceded in death by his fathers, Egypt J. Riley and Xavier Poindexter; aunt, Della (Weathers) Rowley; and nephew, Brandon Riley. Adrian completed his earthly journey on August 17, 2022, at the age of forth-eight years and nineteen days. He leaves to cherish his memory: children, Ashley Brewer, Aaron, Alyssa, and Aidan Riley; mother, Linda Riley; brothers, Brandon H. Riley (Angie) and Xavier E. Poindexter; uncles, Marvin Rowley and Benny Poindexter; aunt, Marilyn "Jeanie" Weathers; nieces, Brandi, Dalisa, and Erica Riley; nephews, Dashawn, Isaiah, and Joseph Riley; first cousins, Jerri Stokes (Robert), Phillip Rowley, Lamar Rowley, Justin Smith, and Clayton Palmer; second cousins, Dana, Jade, Phillip, and Jena Rowley; and a host of other friends and family.
