Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the viewing and the Graveside must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.

On Sunday, May 22, 2022 a flower was picked from the Garden of Life of the Colton’s family. The flower was known as the life of the party, fun, loving, easy going, and caring. The flower was also a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, Randy Colton affectionately known as “Pookie”. Randy leaves a legacy of love and memories that will live forever in the hearts of many.

Randy’s loving demeanor was instilled from birth by the late Mr. Willie Lee Colton and Mrs. Mary Mitchell Colton. Randy was born March 5, 1957 in Meriwether County, Georgia. Randy graduated in 1975 from Greenville High School, Greenville Georgia. Eager to join the workforce, he found employment with Franklin Products, Peachtree City, Georgia, where he remained for many years. Randy was a multitalented person from being a mechanic, an electrician, a barber, a gas technician to a teacher. Yes, Randy helped teach his grandchildren and great nieces how to tie their shoes. But the one thing he loved more was trucking. Randy's passion for trucking led him to establish JNR Trucking, LLC. Many who knew him, within the trucking community, referred to him as “Running Randy”, a self-proclaimed name given to him by himself.

Randy’s family was his pride and joy and he displayed the love he showed for his mother. When the sisters said they couldn't make her appointments, Randy told them blatantly “she needs her appointments”. And that was that!

Randy leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mary Colton; Sons, Rodney Colton and Joshua Colton; Daughter, Latangie Colton Burnett (Jimmy); Grandchildren, LaPrincia, Jimaul, Ronikia, Melody, Ja’Niya, Rodney, Tyquez, Shaquez, Ziyear, Ke’Asia; Great grandchildren, Jakobi, Je’Lanie, Jakala, Zaiden, Kno’inly, Zion and Ty; Sisters, Janette Gaston, Linda Hines, and Brenda (Gerald) Johnson; Brothers, Hulit (Annie) Colton and Dexter (Lou) Colton. A friend; Brenda Colton and a special friend; Elizabeth Ringer. And a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

When a branch has fallen from the family tree, it falls down and crushes the other branches. In due time those crushed branches will eventually regain their strength and face each new day without the fallen branch. Uncle Pookie, I will miss you and I love you forever!
