KURT DARLING
09/05/1956 - 04/30/2021
Kurt Darling was born on September 5. 1965, to Manily Darling II and Jane A. Darling. His parents, his beloved son, Desmond DeLorean, and his brother, Manily III "Kipp," preceded him in death. Kurt attended Indianapolis Public Schools as a child. In his adult life, he served in the Army for many years and was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran who left with an Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and a Sharpshooter's Marksmanship Grenade Badge. For 30 years, his passion as a car salesman at various well-known dealerships within the city gave him joy. He will be greatly missed by his associates at Ed Martin GMC and other local dealerships, where he was often awarded for being the top salesman. Kurt professed his love for the Lord at an early age and continued to have a great zeal for Christ every morning by reading daily devotionals and sharing his positivity and love for the Lord with others. He was affectionately known as "Jedidiah DeLorean Darling." He was also known to throw down in the kitchen! He had a way with words and mentoring others. He could make a powerful entrance without saying a word and leave the room like a mystery. He wore two watches everyday. The watch on his right hand had the current time and the watch on his left hand had a set time of when his son passed away. The death of his son was motivation for him to work hard to be a great single parent to his daughter. He devoted his life to God and took the biblical name "Jedidiah" to express the rebirth of his new way of thinking. He changed his way of thinking and actions to put his daughter, Deja, first and to build everything he had from the ground up. Everyday he sacrificed and worked hard to give her everything she needed and more. Kurt overcame a lot and made many spiritual contributions on a daily basis with Facebook and to his family, friends, and the many people he mentored at work. He leaves behind: his daughter, his "mi amour," Deja Darling, his special friend Monika Appleton; a loving sister, Flora Darling, and brother, David Darling; as well as a host of uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces, and cousins. He will be missed by those inspired by him, coworkers, clients, and family and friends who loved him and will miss him greatly.
